Then again, Hey Mr Ferryman isn't exactly business as usual. Produced by ex-Suede guitarist Bernard Butler, who also plays all the guitars and keyboards, the album opens with "The Last Ten Years" (originally written for American Music Club), which gallops with a brisk pep and radio-friendly sheen you wouldn't necessarily associate with a songwriter whose most acclaimed works in the late 80s.

Intriguingly Mark's latest release, 'Hey Mr Ferryman', sits at the polar opposite end of the production scale; this is the fullest sounding album of Eitzel's solo career, only rivalled by 97's Peter Buck assisted 'West'.

Hey Mr Ferryman is Mark Eitzel's tenth solo album, his first in three years, and the first full studio album recorded entirely in London. It was made at Studios with Mercury Prize winner Bernard Butler (Suede, McAlmont & Butler). Butler produced and played all of the electric guitar, bass, and keyboard parts on the album/5(10).
